The Role: Head of Marketing and Communications

We’re excited to welcome a Head of Marketing and Communications to our Executive Leadership Team. In this role, you will own, lead, and execute a visionary marketing and communications strategy for the firm and our innovative portfolio companies. Your mission will be to help us build and streamline a world-class, differentiated brand across the blockchain investment space; to accomplish this, you will work directly with the Managing Partners and our Executive Team to develop marketing initiatives that elevate our mission, drive crypto and web3 thought leadership, and contribute to the success of our portfolio companies. You will be responsible for driving best-in-class PR, brand communications, and content across digital, social media, and traditional media outlets, strategizing sponsorships and participation at key conferences, and coordinating Limited Partner and portfolio company events. Through thoughtful deployment of the marketing budget, you will manage our dedicated marketing and communications consultants and vendors to maximize and scale your function. Responsibilities:

• Lead an updated, professional branding and brand messaging process to ground CoinFund’s communications and marketing strategy.
• Create, communicate, and manage a clear and ambitious marketing strategy and vision both for CoinFund and our portfolio companies; work closely with Managing Partners and executive team to drive a cohesive, compelling and leading global brand.
• Partner with CoinFund’s investors in the execution of their personal PR and marketing, including social media training
• Manage the CoinFund marketing team, including our Head of Content.
• Partner closely with the Investor Relations team to build compelling marketing collateral, host events, and drive world-class relationships with our investors and Limited Partners.
• Lead and execute the communications and content strategy across all of CoinFund’s social and paid media platforms; manage day-to-day publishing and engagement on Twitter/LinkedIn/Email, and adjust channel goals and best practices as needed to drive and maintain growth.
• Provide best-in-class marketing and communications support to CoinFund’s portfolio companies as they work to build and elevate their brands, attract customers, and secure product market fit.
• Plan, coordinate and effectively manage the marketing and communications budget and identify, manage and lead social media, events, media, branding, and communications vendors and consultants.
• Support CoinFund’s thought leadership in the crypto industry by managing annual conference calendar and attendance.
• Maintain brand and portfolio assets and templates, global content calendar, and marketing and PR databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years experience leading marketing initiatives in technology across content, product and organic channels.
• You have worked with investors and investing teams to brand and market an investment firm, investors, and portfolio companies.
• Ideally you have experience marketing and building awareness of early stage tech and finance companies.
• You have demonstrated experience breaking through noise and building company/team awareness using earned media, social channels, PR, events and speaking engagements.
• You have done well creating unique speaking and public exposure opportunities for company or investment firm leadership.
• You have overseen successful PR efforts and have achieved major stories in major traditional and modern media publications/podcasts.
• You are comfortable working in a partnership environment with multiple stakeholders
• Excellent judgment re: deploying marketing dollars and managing budgets.
• You have a keen interest in crypto and its future, and you are passionate about emerging technologies.
• Proven track record of brand building and marketing success.
• Proven track record of driving a successful communication and PR strategy.
• Proven track record of finding and prioritizing the right and highest-leverage opportunities for the firm.
• Proficiency in drawing conclusions from data and making recommendations based on imperfect information.
• Superior creative judgment and writing skills.
• Excellent track record of overseeing elegant and quality creative output.
• Deep understanding and experience across brand, product, growth, and programmatic marketing.
• Superior digital marketing expertise evidenced across email marketing communications, managing web content, social media channels, and paid media.
• Proven track record in managing vendor relationships and consultants to maximize brand, communications and marketing impact.
• A strong sense of ownership and tenacity; proven track record of executing in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Highly collaborative and radically open to receiving and delivering feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in crypto and launching successful crypto marketing initiatives.
• Understanding (and ideally direct) experience working within the investment or venture fund ecosystem.
• Meaningful relationships with key press in tech, investing and/or crypto communities.
• Proven ability to partner with startup founders and teams.
• Experience managing international marketing initiatives.
• Experience booking and coaching partners as speakers on high-profile podcasts, Twitter Spaces, broadcast and conference panels—then repurposing those appearances as content.

Location:

While we have headquarters in New York City and Miami, we are a remote-first company and our goal is to hire the absolute best talent across the globe.

Salary: $200,000-$300,000
