As the resident Livepeer video product and developer relations expert, you will help accelerate demand for video processing on the Livepeer network by growing and building directly with a decentralized community of the most innovative and ambitious developers creating the future of consumer video experiences and applications.

You will be responsible for identifying and acting entrepreneurially on strategic opportunities for video product innovation across the AI and Blockchain ecosystems, supporting developers by ensuring they have the best tools to work with, closing any gaps in developer experience, and helping their video projects flourish.

Your success will be measured by the quality and quantity of disruptive video innovations powered by Livepeer that you helped enable.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for developers building with Livepeer, offering support through various channels
• Actively engage and build directly with developers in strategic ecosystems to identify, scope and nurture opportunities for innovation in video developer tooling and consumer video applications.
• Rapidly prototype and share inspiring proofs of concepts, collaborating with technical partners where composability warrants
• Craft inspiring technical content and imaginative open source tools to equip developers with the knowledge they need to succeed at building the future of video applications powered by Livepeer
• Collaborate with other builders at hackathons to assist them in creating new projects
• Make it easier for builders to use Livepeer by identifying developer needs and obstacles and work internally with Product, Engineering, Marketing teams to design and deliver solutions
• Participate actively in social media and community forums to share your ideas, inspire and support builders, and identify emerging opportunities
• Creatively gather and synthesize feedback from developers, sharing this with responsible internal teams to inform product development and improvement, helping to ensure Livepeer's adoption among developers as the default video infrastructure provider.
• Contribute to technical discussions and decisions that contribute directly to establishing Livepeer as the leading video infrastructure network in terms of developer activity, showcaseable video innovations, and minutes of video processed on the network.
• Develop an open culture that empowers developers to contribute and thrive within the Livepeer ecosystem.
• A rough breakdown of how you will spend your time:
  • 25% coding with Livepeer video developer tools
  • 25% sharing your code with the community at events and on social channels
  • 25% helping builders code
  • 25% working internally to unblock builders

• Minimum 5 years of full-stack developer experience
• Minimum 2 years of video technology and/or product experience
• Substantial computer science foundation, with the ability to build productively with all popular frontend developer frameworks
• Developer relations or open source community development experience
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities, including the knack for simplifying complex subjects into easily comprehensible ideas and concepts
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic, occasionally uncertain setting with limited supervision
• Hacker mindset: you quickly identify and solve problems with minimum viable products
• Entrepreneurial: your determination and resilience enable you to overcome challenges and drive results
• Alignment with Livepeer’s mission and desire to be the home for video innovation and disruption
• Interest and expertise in AI tools and applications and how AI is disrupting video creation and workflows
• Interest and expertise in blockchain technology, with an understanding of video-relevant web3 segments and technologies including decentralized infrastructure, social, NFTs, wallets, privacy and identity management
• Experience building in a startup, hackathons or other entrepreneurial projects

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with building and participating in onchain communities that are focused on creating public goods and funding builders
• A deep existing network within video and creative communities

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $150-175K USD cash
• Competitive token package with 3 year vesting
